    The First Fire

The night the stone pit was built out of foundation rubble and a promise nobody wrote down.

They say Nick built the pit himself out of the rubble of a foundation the bank had walked away from. He set the last stone, lit the first fire, and told his wife he would never again let a ledger decide what happened to their block. The pit has not gone cold since.

    Six Lights In The Window

Six small golden lights, left burning in the family home every night he is out.

Neighbors report that on nights Nick is working, six small golden lights burn in the windows of the Reynolds home until he returns. Nobody in the family has ever confirmed who turns them on. Nobody has ever seen them turned off before he is home.

    What The Fire Is

Family, faith, grief turned to purpose, loyalty, courage, truth, rebirth, protection.

The fire is not a weapon he was given. It is a ledger of its own — every promise kept, every night he stood up when it was easier to sit down. The fire does not control Nick. Nick controls the fire.

  • CanonArtifacts · First logged Issue No. 3

    The Headlamp

Tiny's headlamp: scratched, taped, and never once out of battery when it mattered.

Origin unknown. Current owner: Tiny. Power: it finds what evil tries to hide. Attempts to replace it with a newer model have all failed for reasons Tiny declines to discuss.

  • ClassifiedThe Keepers · Recovered, chain of custody incomplete

    The Silver Coin

A blank silver coin left on the table after every Keeper meeting.

Struck with a circular symbol containing a locked vault. Left behind deliberately. The message is understood by everyone in the room: a price has been set, whether or not you agreed to it.

  • UnconfirmedUnconfirmed Sightings · 2:40 a.m., date withheld

    The Red Devil, Route 3, 2:40 a.m.

A construction truck entered the underpass. A red sports car came out.

Two independent accounts, neither willing to sign. Both describe hydraulic noise, falling sparks, and a shape that changed between the streetlights. Shh has been asked. Shh said what Shh says.

The Arrival Of The Black '75

You hear it before you see it, and by then the conversation is already over.

A bartender on the avenue: 'Two guys were arguing about a lien. Then that Cadillac came down the street and both of them stopped talking. He never even got out.'

  • FolkloreCommunity Legends · Every November

    Coats In November

Every November a school finds forty coats in the gym. No note. No name.

It has happened long enough that the staff no longer ask. One year a custodian swore he saw a white Escalade with a black roof pull away before sunrise.

  • Witness AccountMidnight Missions · Recurring

    The Night Shift

Five people, one truck, and a block that was supposed to be gone by morning.

The crew arrives after midnight, works without lights where they can, and is gone before the first bus. What they leave behind is always a place that is still standing.

  • CanonThe Crew · Standing order

    Who Goes First

The order has never changed: Tiny in, Vance on the door, Spark on Nick, Boochi last.

Shh is never listed, because Shh is already underneath.
